Given that more people who are fortunate to be still working have suffered pay cuts and are more than likely now doing the work of at least 2 people given redundancies etc do people who are still working feel they're living to work given that most people I know seem to be exhausted from working.
I know of people in one firm who actually hope their company closes down they are so exhausted and short staffed and it is a multi national

It's more having a kid than the job that's draining the ****ing life out of me.

    Love my kid though.

Its more likely to be working longer for less money that's soul destroying!

I know my job realistically covers what would have been 3 individual roles in the boom times (not saying there's actually 3 people's work, but certainly more than 1 person's :( ) So I tend to go home wrecked.

Having said that, most days I love my job, keeps me busy and pays decently.

Maybe you should take this issue to your HR dept, who should take measuers to combat demotivated workers, they should compile a worker satisfaction survay and a work load survay and have the results early to mid 2012 for management to review.

I was once young and idealistic about my job. Nowadays the motto is do it to them before they do it to you.

I hate this "lucky to have a job attititude", the people who still have jobs are those who work hard and are good at what they do.

I'm doing 5 people's jobs today. My 'give a toss' threshold is at an all-time low. As evidenced by my posting here.

I'm doing my own job as well as someone else's because someone has gone on longterm sick leave and nobody is trained to cover his position. Except me. The jobs are on opposite sides of the city. I'm exhausted and find myself only bothering to meet the bare minimum of requirements, which is not usually like me at all.

Get a dog, get out walking and stay away from that soul destroying, life sucking, suicide inducing genre of tv show.

Just how many hours a day and on how many channels is Jeremy Kyle on?

It can be hard to stay motivated. Over the last four years we had a pay-freeze, followed by a recruitment/promotion freeze, followed by big tax hikes, followed by two pay-cuts and now it looks like we’ll be losing holidays next year. Everything just seems to be getting worse, with conditions being chipped away and no end in sight.

    Still, could be worse.

I have a dog but even he's hooked :D all joking aside I know how stressful working is but at the same time being unemployed is mentally draining, there's only so much walking you can do
