Sky on 4th (top) floor apartment

I hope someone can help me. I've read through this forum but still need to get some stuff across.

I went online to order Sky for my apartment. It has free installation when you order online. Any way it submitted my application for them to contact me because I live on the 4th floor which is also the top floor.
A person from Sky called me today and said that we need a minimum of five to get a communal dish installed. Each person would have to pay €30 for the installation and I said I clicked an ad online and it was allowing me to get it free online so I'll just do it that way, but he said it has since expired.

Any way my point is that I may not be able to get four others to sign up especially if they are being charged €30 for an installation and another €30(?) for not having a landline phone. I'd like to think they could ignore all that and get themselves five new customers for the year! Sooo.. how does one go about getting their own independent engineer to install the dish? Is the dish going to be sent from Sky? Will the guy know where to point the dish? I wanted to go to a shopping centre where you see the guys at a desk cos he may be able to do it all for me! How much would an independent engineer charge me? Does he bring the cable to the TV and then the Sky dude comes and sticks the box in with the cable?

I hope I made sense here. We have permission to get the dish installed.

    Peter

PS I'd be asking him to go on the roof to install it, there is plenty of space, the roof is flat and there is a ladder up to it.. like a fire escape.

Try here http://www.isaa.tv/ Most independents can get the "no phoneline fee" waived also. Can't see too many problems getting installed as you have safe access to the roof and a short cable run to your apartment.

That sounds like a bit of a strange answer from Sky. They recently installed communal dishes in my complex and it didn't cost anything, they done it for free. The only thing the residents had to pay was if the got Sky TV in themselves. I just got it installed the other day and they gave me free installation, waived the charge for not having a phone line and gave me some other discounts and it came to €29 euro.

My monthly bill will be more than that, but I'm surprised they weren't jumping all over the chance to install dishes there for free. When I enquired originally a few months ago (when the management company wouldn't allow it) Sky said they'd do it all for free.

I'm pretty sure I contacted them on this site originally to enquire:

Hey, thanks for that.. I'll check that out! The cable run would be very minimal!

    Hi G-Money, you're jammy! :pac:
When I was signing up online it was all coming up for free, but that phone line problem was charging me something.
I don't see why they can't just set up the dish and know they have this building covered! They'd easily win over UPC!

I used that link about 2 weeks ago to sign up but they never got back to me! :( To be fair I'm OK with paying the two fees if they'd install it for me without the rest! I just want Sky.. UPC isn't too good for the same price and the reception isn't too good (here) from what I have experienced over the past year!

Any way, all they did was 'register my interest'. I gotta see if I can get others to sign up but not too confident! :(
