is there much differance in price to justify either

which battery would be better for weight and power etc

you can get filters for p7's or a m7r, fairly cheap.

Id go with the 170 if you are using it by hand. Its a great lamp. It gives out a good bit more light than the 140. But the 140 would be better if you were mounting it. But if you have the P7 already you have that sorted.

Get the 170 and a deben light weight power pack. It'll set you back another couple of hundred euro, but you'll have more lamping time, and you won't be fcuked from carrying big heavy lead acid batteries around the place

You left out something important, what're you intending to use it for :D

The 140 Lance is good for shotguns and rimfire ranges.
The 170 Striker is good for centrefire ranges.
The 240 Blitz is good for people who go out in pairs.

Out of them all, the scope mounted Striker suits me best with the .223.

The Striker will have either a 75W or 100W bulb, I forget which, but the hand held and the scope mounted versions have different bulbs.

I wouldn't consider a battery under 20 amps any more, but that's just me. I've two 28 amp batteries at the moment and have had 33 amp batteries (which didn't last long).

If you can afford the Lithium Ion batteries, they're certainly a lot lighter, but a hell of a lot more expensive.
