i had a dispute with my car insurance and it wasnt my fault , an uinsured driver hit me but the payment has all been sorted

and there claims department have said my no claims bonus has been reinstated but there underwriting department are saying no that i need a letter from teh garda to say that the person driving the car was not insured even though there insurance has payed out

but the Garda can not give me such a letter until the court hearing goes ahead as everybosy is innocent till proven guilty

so one part of the insurance company say yes and the other say no

i keep ringing up to find out whats going on but i keep getting teh run around

who at this stage can i turn to or report

In answer to your question : Yes , there is an Insurance Ombudsman , just Google it and you'll find their site.

ombudsman takes time and form filling.

start with an e-mail to the claims dept marked 'complaint' & set your case out. Insurers have to apply a process laid down by the regulator once they received a 'complaint' so you might get satisfaction that way. It will certainly be moved up to management level.
