If anyone has done the supreme course of this, do you think you'd need to be doing serious training to do it ? i dont mean get a good time, i mean to just be able to run and cycle it all without stopping ?

ive done the sports , my brothers in law have done the long one.. to finish i dont think itd take a huge amount of training, but obviously the more you do the better youl do, there a hill in the second cycle thats supposed to be extremely tough..be worth getting down to it to have a look, or if thats not an option then cycle over some tough hills between now and then

I did the long course last year, you'll get through it with a basic level of fitness. it all depends on if your looking to do it in a specific time or just complete it. the reek is going up the front section which is alot tougher than gaelforce. after the reek there is a b1tch of a hill to climb. alot of people walked this section with the bike just to get over it. would recommend so hill cycling before hand. it a tough course starting and finishing with a 4k run.

did a couple of tri's this summer but cant see myself picking the training up too much between now and the race, so hopefully i can wing it. obviously i will do some running and cycling

I've just decided to do this: the spirit version. While I did Gaelforce this year, I have barely put one foot in front of the other since. To anyone who has done either course: am I mad?? I figure I have 4 weeks to get into the swing of things and a good sense of humour.......

obviusly the distances in the spirit are far shorter than gaelforce , so obviously its achievable for most people..that the point i suppose to get people to enter..make it look achievable
so if youve done gaelforce you probably can run 8k cycle 16k and get halfway up and down croagh patrick
then it depends on how fast you want to do it.. thats whatl make it tough..
will 4 weeks be enough time..absolutely.. i know people that will do it on no training.. pace it and youl be absolutely fine..
i would say if you can get down to have a look over the course or at least parts of it it would be great for you, i always find its a great advantage..
