I have recently did interview for some contract work. The employer only deals through an agency for hiring contractors.
The agency needs me to be set up as a sole trader or limited company in order to deal with me.(does this mean self-employed:confused:)

It is a 2 month contract only for a specific project.
Will I be able to resume collecting JSB after the contract is finished (assuming I get the contract).
I have been told that self employed people have no entitlements to social welfare payments:confused:

Being told to set up a company for a 2 month contract seems insane. Setting up as a sole trader would make you self employed, which could interfer with any further JB or JA claim.

The way to stay as an employee is to use an umbrella company. Google them, or search for relevant threads in Work & Jobs.
