    Folks,

I'm wondering what is the best design principle for capturing information from the end user on a website.

I have a field requesting the users email address and the users phone number. I am finding that the user will generally enter either the correct email or the correct mobile number but rarely both.

In your opinion is it best to ask for one or the other?

    Thanks.

Until you are providing something really valuable to people, they will be reluctant to share their mobile numbers.
The usual practice will be requesting name and email.

    Good luck!
