Currently doing business as a sole trader, but planning to operate as a limited company of the same name when registration comes through.
Can the income and expenses from the time before registration with CRO be considered part of company trade?

Basically no. An unregistered company is not a company at all. It does not exist.

However, it's not quite that simple. There are some possibilities for tax planning in this situation. You really need to talk to an accountant or tax advisor though.
