I am doing a plc course and applied for a grant from cdvec in august as an independent mature student, got a letter last week saying I had been approved for a grant and a course acceptance form, filled that in and on Monday I got a letter from them looking for bank account details and a form for the college to stamp and that they wanted it back by next Mon, Sent it off that day all stamped by college and bank.
Does anyone know when the monthly payments will start? They seem to be on the ball as I've seen people on her who were left waiting until after xmas to be paid.

I recieved my grand today as did my brother fom Dublin city council. Have to say I'm very impressed with the speed of the grant this year. Almost want to send them a thank you card for being this early :p

got mine from Cork County today, seems like the authorities who pay into your account directly are paying much faster, but at least they're starting to come out.

this website is great for showing what's coming in:

hopefully you won't be waiting too long, but the first grant payment in first year always takes the longest, when I got my first I applied in August 07 and got it January 08, this was before the immense backlog that there is now. If you are getting really stuck, there is the boi grant advance, always helpful in a tight situation....but be mindful of payin it back when you get the grant.

I got mine in from Dublin City Council today as well.

Does anybody know how many installments the grant comes in? Is it three?

If so does anybody know when these payments are made?

Either 3 installments or one a month; based on how much you've just gotten out of the total you're getting, it should be fairly obvious which.

I got through to them on the phone on friday morning, my first payment will be the 28th of this month. All went very smoothly with mine, I applied on the 29th of aug, was approved almost 3 weeks later and got a letter dated 28th sept saying how much I will get and a form for college and bank to stamp. And when I rang on friday they said they got that and I'll be paid into the bank the end of the month :)

Usually, its the last working day of the month if its paid into your bank account
