Can you get the exact text of the error message?

Failing that try to uninstall\reinstall adobe reader.

Go to Control Panel - add/remove programs and find adobe reader. Uninstall that (or any other instance of it).

    Then download and install again.

    Any help?

You could try FoxIT Reader instead. It's slimmer and more secure.

Well there are better pdf readers (I use Sumatra myself). But as a workaround this could be the next port of call if reinstalling doesn't fix anything.
