    Hi,

My display has decided to change the font and layout to very small !

I've gone into start > control panel > display and its showing as 1920 x 1080 and 32-bit.

Is there any to get this back to a bigger font? It's gone really quite small.

    Thanks in advance !

What operating system are you using?

I know in windows vista and 7 you can hold ctrl while pressing plus or minus to reduce or enlarge the icon/text size. Also you can use the mousewheel to do the same.

    OS is Windows xp

My desktop and firefox browser have reduced fonts, the result is that the fonts are slightly blurry aswell as small. thanks

    Ah right.

    This link should help so.

Did you do anything like update graphics drivers recently? Might have something to do with it.

I've taken a look at your link thanks but that doesn't seem to work for me.

I have NVIDIA installed that came with my laptop, this seems to have been the cause of a crash I had and when I shut down my laptop and rebooted I am left with this very strange small and blurry font.

You never mentioned anything about a crash.

Well there are a few things you can do.

Reduce the display settings or uninstall and reinstall the graphics card by redownloading the drivers and seeing if that helps. Might be a little drastic though.

Sorry bout that, the baby has issues, it tends to slow up, vitually stop, and the only way I can get it moving again is by pressing the power off and rebooting, maybe its a seperate issue.

How do I "reduce" the display settings? and how do I uninstall and reinstall the graphic card?

    Appreciate all the help

To me it's a display matter but have tried all the variations in "display" and no joy

    Well that rules that out.

What happens before the crash, this could all be related. Did you install\update something recently?

It could be related, but then again could just be a fluke with your graphics card.

Firstly go to this page and download the appropriate driver(s) for your card.

    http://www.nvidia.com/Download/index.aspx?lang=en-us

*Please only do the following if you're familiar with the steps and have either the disk or downloaded the drivers from the net and you're positive that it's your card at fault.*

To remove it though, I'll just warn you that you'll get the very old 4 colour display and huge icons before re-installing. (Then you just run the install you downloaded from the link above, but that comes later).

If you wanted to you'd need to boot in to safe mode (tapping F8 when the machine boots up). Select Safe Mode with Networking.

First go to control panel - add/remove programs and remove any nVidia programs there.

Then right click on My Computer and select Properties.

Select the Hardware tab and then Device Manager. Click the + sign beside display adapters. Right click on the graphics card and select Properties.

In the Driver tab there should be an option to Uninstall.

You may need to reboot after this.

Then boot back in to safe mode and install from the file you downloaded from the nVidia site.

    How did you get on?

    Hi Chin_grin.

Well....since yesterday my typing has slowed down (or rather the catch-up rate of my typing versus the pc displaying it, say I type a word quite fast by the time I look at the screen it could either be as-I-type or it could be lagging behind.

I mention the above as it might be part of the problem.

Today I got stuck in and followed your instructions to the letter, yes all went well but the only difference it has made is that it allows me to get the blue colour back on the end of my screen, it wouldn't let me do this in "Display" beforehand.

My fonts etc though are still small so it's still driving me potty. Thanks for all the help you've given thus far.
