    Hi there....

After discovering drops of oil underneath the car,My mechanic has said that the Rocker Cover gasket is the problem..I did let it go for a while,,but now the problem is worse,,so time to get it done... I'm being told here that the gasket alone cannot be changed,or even bought. From what I'm being told,I need the whole Rocker Cover.

I'm driving the 02 Octavia 1.9TDi 90 bhp with the ALH engine code.

So,,would anyone know where I can buy the part/s that I need?

How much would they be? (Delivered)

And hopefully a site that can take Paypal.

Any help would be most welcome.

    Thanks.

im sure a rocker cover gasket can be got on its own. just ring a skoda dealer and ask them.

Not sure where to get the gasket other than skoda but heres a diagram of the ALH engine..:)

If you can make it out it says 13A is part no 038 103 469 E
I'd ring up skoda and ask them if this part no is correct for you car and if it is
    then Google 038 103 469 E ...:)

    Ahh well,,it must be done...

    Thanks again guys....

I have no idea,,to be honest....

I do find it strange that the gasket cannot be bought here, and you have to buy the whole Rocker Cover..

Yet in the UK you can buy the gaskets....But there are so many to choose from,I'd be half afraid in case I ordered the wrong one...

    Dilema Dilema.....

Maybe send these crowd a message and ask them to see if this rocker cover is suited for your engine... http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/VW-GOLF-MK4-AUDI-A3-CYLINDER-HEAD-COVER-038-103-469-E-/280728023937
    Seems alot cheaper than €104..:)

@C4Kid..I'm running Etka 7.3 which has all part diagrams/numbers for all vw,audi,skoda,seat..:)

Not many cars on the road these days with the cork type seals...

Yeah, I'm goin back twenty odd years ago when i weas stuck for one. I think it was on a hiace. We got a sheet of cork from an auto factors and cut one out......

That was long before "Rip-off-Ireland" kicked it...

Which is the same in My case now......I can't buy the gasket here,,so I have to pay out €104 to the main stealer,,for the rocker cover..But I can get the same part in the UK delivered for €63.00..

And now,,thanks the fab Guys on this thread,,it looks lile I can get the Gasket itself for just over €20.00 delivered....Although the waiting time for that may rule it out....

    Thanks again to everyone.
