Wouldn't want to be headin off somewhere in a hurry, just tried 4 places for Australian dollars in Sligo today and can't get any.
AIB have none, BoI "might have some later", Ulster have none (don't even have Stg!), Post office don't do AUD. anyplace left to try?

Has the bank's liquidity crunch come to this! :D

Don'y you normally need to put in an order at least 24 hours in advance for large sums of foreign currency with any bank?

If you ask at the FX counter of your bank they will order whatever currency you need, an order is placed and sent down overnight.

Best practice to give them a 24hr notice if its any kind of large(ish) sum.

Given the times don't be surprised if there is a particularly large demand for the pp Aussie dollar.

Credit union is always good, but you'd want to be a member... Any bank etc... you're looking at 24 hour notice.

Plus, if you were that stuck you'd nab some on a bureau de change at the airport.....
