Theoretically, if my friend, in theory, misplaced the cover of a DVD from the library, but still had the DVD, what would be the consequences when returning it there, hypothetically?

    Oh, I'm just interested...

    Morally yes.

But he could just google the cover online and print it off and hope for the best...

Well it's better to return the DVD without the cover art than return the cover art without the DVD!

My theoretical friend found the cover in the end, phew, though the labels barcodes thing it had going on kind of hypothetically deterred him from that though
