    This really takes the p&ss. How these money is awarded and what fools we are to allow it to happen but Bertie has tken the most compared to all the former heads of state.:mad:. His mobile phone bill is in nearly €10,000 since leaving office:mad::mad::mad:

    While I deplore his actions, it is also the fault of the system which lets this happen, and lets or encourages him. In what other country are ex prime minister entitled to claim expenses for their normal expenses?

    That's easy to answer. He is entitled to it because he was a member of the ruling party which made up the rules, voted in again and again by the Irish electorate.

    Had the Irish electorate not voted in Fianna Fail, they would not have been in a position to make these rules to their own financial advantage.
