Sky in an apartment block

    Hello

    Im thinking of getting sky TV for the first time

    I live in an apartment block near dublin city centre

    for the installation of sky, does it always invlove the installation of a dish ?

    Yes.

    is the block served already ? some have a communal dish .

    its a relatively small block, only 15 apartments .....I havent noticed any dishes around

    If there was even 1 dish installed, cud this service a number of apartments ?

    Op, ring Sky in Cork and they'll tell you if your block is enabled.

    so by enabled, do you mean, my block has 1 dish installed already ?

    and then this dish can service a load of apartments ?

    Sky recently installed communal dishes in my apartment complex in Dublin. I'm almost certain you won't be able to see the dish, I know I can't see any they installed here. Their advertising spiel also says it's hidden out of the way etc etc.

    As others have said, the best thing to do is call Sky and ask if it's available where you live. When I did that originally it wasn't available but they took my details anyway. At the time the management company said we weren't allowed to put up satellite dishes although I'm 99.9% sure I spotted one outside someone else's apartment.

    One day I arrived home and saw Sky vans at the complex and there were leaflets in through our letterboxes saying Sky was now available and sure enough, they showed up at my door and also called to let me know I could now get it.

    That's probably the best thing to do. You also might be able to get it installed in your own apartment anyway, but you'd need permission from the management company probably and also from the owner, if you are renting that is.
