Got an offer of a 01 5 door yaris today (1600e) 150k on clock, clean enough interior, few bumps and scratches ( to be expected 10 yr car)
What says ye? Ya or nay?:D Took if for a spin...drives quietly!

Appreciate the reply's guys.....on the milage its app' 15k per year!!! My own car currently has 105K which avg is 17 k per year (05) so i would have thought the milage was average:confused:

I have been watching the prices of Yaris's for the last year and if it has test you wont get them much cheaper than 1600. If they had 2k then a nice car could be got.
P.s I know you know Toyota's inside out so I am surprised that you think better can be got for the money.

    They're out there

    In the meantime

    http://cars.donedeal.ie/for-sale/cars/2543377

Revised version so should be uber dependable. Looks v clean. Toyota DNA in there.

this is what you pay for a 01 yaris with long nct low miles and pristine and its worth every penny imo http://cars.donedeal.ie/for-sale/cars/2541827 if your getting a 01 for 1600 snap it up before someone else does

that is a sweet little car for sure but its been viewed 500 times and i'd safely say its sold:D i will ring about it tommorow though.....just on the off chance;)

    Yeah but

Apart from not having a 4 star ncap and its questionable styling it fits the brief

Great reliability, newer, low mileage, big-ish.

Will have a gander at yarii tomorrow.

Actually on second thoughts.....its not a yaris:D ugly little thing is right:D

I have been watching those Daihatsu's as an alternative to the Yaris for a while and if you can get over the looks they look like a bargain tbh

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,129 ✭✭✭coolbeans

That Daihatsu is a bargain no doubt it and as they're owned by Toyota there's old school, proper, damn near unbreakable reliability built in from the off. Isn't the engine the same unit as the Toyota? The Yaris is good but 160k is a lot of miles on what's basically a city car.
The Daithatsu would be a better buy. I'll be looking out for one for my GF as there's no value to be had with Toyotas. The Sirion isn't well known and therein lies the value.
