Have a few movies which wont copy on to my external hard drive, its a medion hddrive.
movies are around 6gb, i have a 1tb hd, huge amount of space empty, now i googled and found this:

The darn thing was formatted in FAT32. Did you know FAT32 doesn’t accept files larger than 4GB? Now WHY a 500GB storage space is formatted in FAT32 is beyond me!

so im assuming this is what the problem is with mine.

thing is, what can i do to make the hd accept all sizes?

It's formatted in FAT32 so that both PCs and Macs can read it straight out of the box. The easiest thing to do is to take everything off the new hard drive, reformat it as NTFS (assuming you have a PC) and you'll be able to copy your 6GB files no problem.

AS far as my experience with Windows 7 is concerned that makes no difference you still have to run as Administrator. i.e. right click on the .exe and choose Run as Administrator.

go to start...type in "disk management" without quotes into the search box...in the search results at the top of the pop out menu you will see listed under control panel "create and format hard drive partitions". right click this and choose run as administration.. when this opens you will see all the drives connected to your computer.. now just find your external hard drive and right click it and choose format..then after the warning choose NTFS as the filesystem then press ok.. should work
