Criminal Record?

I'm applying for a work placement programme and the application guidelines state that applicants should submit their criminal record. I don't have a criminal record, does this mean I can just disregard this part or do I need some sort of proof that I haven't committed an offence?

Yes you must submit some sort of Garda clearance cert. Someone will be along to explain how.

The crowd you're doing the experience should be sending off the paperwork to the Garda Central Vetting unit.

A previous thread uncovered the fact that the Gardai will not issue a certificate of good character (=no criminal record) except to a consular body i.e. the embassy of a country you want to emigrate to or for the purposes of securing a foreign adoption i.e. you want to adopt a child from another country and bring it to Ireland and the authorities in that country require proof that you have no criminal record.
