Would be nice if loadsa people dressed down for it, but obviously this aint essential.

Maybe you could explain the concept.

From my understanding, there was a "SlutWalk" (what a hilarious self deprecating name, yeah) in Canada or somewhere, after a politician passed a remark about rape victims bringing it upon themselves. I take it an Irish TD has said similar?

I think I fall into this category.
I, too, would like to hear what you think the "concept" is. And don't simply go linking to other websites - I've had a look and not yet found one that made any real sense. Please explain simply why this is supposed to work.

Then I expect to fall into the notably absent option of "people who 'get' what the "Slutwalk" aims to do but still think the idea is retarded". Feel free to prove me wrong, though.

It was some random Canadian police officer who said something along the lines of 'if you don't want to be raped don't dress like a slut'. The wimmins went into a rage an hilarity ensued.

I think that's fair enough, it's an outrageous thing to say especially from a person in authority.

I don't see any need for it to be replicated here unless a Garda has echoed the sentiment. I don't think many people think women deserve to be raped. A more noble cause would be campaigning for anonymity for the rape-cases, given the number of lying slags out there who have no qualms falsely accusing others.

He didn't say women who dressed like sluts deserved to be raped. He said that by dressing like sluts they draw the wrong kind of attention from the wrong kind of person ie: they encourage the rapists.

A lot of women could do with having a bit more dignity and self-respect when it comes to dressing, but unfortunately I think rapists will be out to get someone regardless of their attire.

I notice the slogan is "Society teaches DONT GET RAPED rather than DONT RAPE" which is nothing but sensationalist toss. Society teaches both.

Between 30 and 100 depending on who you ask.

    So, not as such, no.

Wasn't bad considering the rain, i'd say about 70 were there.
