    I need to stick about €25000 away for about 18 months. Any suggestions on the best account/bank to get the best return I can?

    did you check the post office savings bank,safe there and think interest is good.

    Check PTSB website..they have an interest first account, so you will get a few hundred spending money now rather than next year

    Had a look at FSA for UK and read it as Ulster Ltd is covered by them for savings. Am I reading it wrong. :(

    Ulster Bank which pay 4.29% for this period.
