There has been a small update in the last few weeks regarding the backup button. Previously if you were to fast forward or rewind live tv and pressed the backup button, it would bring you back to the live picture, but you would also lose the ability to rewind from that point on(as if you have just tuned in a new station).

It was one of my bugbear for ages. But now, they have fixed that problem. After you press the backup button you can rewind to when you last tuned the station in.
