Dont touch them with a barge pole. I just spent the past two days on calls with their so called customer service in India. Basically the lied to me and made me jump thru hoops for an issue that was theirs all along. Poor shoddy coverage. Liars on the customer service. Avoid like the plague.......

they're not too bad if it works but it most likely wont be the speeds they suggest... There's lost of issues (bad one) about 3 floating about here

Hopefully someone in your area can reply here

In saying that I'm with 3 a few months and had no problems, but I am still changing when the contract is up :pac:

And there's an example of another "feature" of the 3 network ;)

I've used 3's mobile broadband quite a bit and never had duplicate posts on any public forum

Its happened the odd time to me for no apparent reason which I thought was something I did, then after jokingly pointing out Dr. Nick's triplicate post from a 3 connection the same happened to me a few posts later, 3 connection was acting up when I went to post and when I finally got back on I'd posted the same post 3 times. Since then noticed a few more 3 users post duplicates.

Been with them nearly a year now. Was living in the countryside and had bad reception, but after moving into town, I'll stay with them. Customer service for me is exelent, mind you, thats only when they are asking me to pay an overdue bill. But, no, they are grand.

    Waste of money.
Speed tests all come out great. But actual browsing and download speeds are crap with lots of cut offs.
Its almost like they tweak the speed on the speed test websites just to fool you.

Avoid. If signal strength isn't a problem contention most likely is,
I get -68 to -76dBm of signal in mobile data monitoring application but these are my results since I moved home (to 3g under the national broadband scheme) from eircom 8Mb NGB in Letterkenny: (check results after the 18th of December)
    http://www.speedtest.net/results.php?sh=3372f992a8cf0e8dcac07026e592cc98&ria=0
Those 3Mb peaks are during the unsociable hours of 2am - 9am. This is on an e122 modem.
If landline broadband isn't an option try Meteor or Vodafone, don't take my word for it, as I have experience with neither, but I've heard that they have less contention.
Huh, only noticing how old this thread is now! Derp!

 Wow, that's atrocious, what signal is the E586 reporting on its router page? That's the worst thing about Mifi modems, you can't see the actual -dBm of signal you get, just some nondescript bars saying "Great!" or "Poor". Can't believe the cheek of Three sending out that letter to anyone on NBS back in September/October saying that they would upgrade their service to provide a minimum of under 100ms ping, 2Mb download and 30GB cap. I've only seen the 30GB cap, not that you can reach it since the speeds got worse.
    Got this last night: http://speedtest.net/result/2407470081.png
Comreg haven't a clue of just how bad this joke of a service is, my brother, 4 cousins and a few friends of mine are all in the same area on 3g, and it completely cut out for them last night at peak time, there must be at least 200-300 households in the area working off 2 cell towers. Somebody must have got a "brown paper package" full of money in the government to trust this 3g crap for last mile broadband. I'm switching provider to North West Electronics in March when they get thru the backlog of people who've ordered, most likely people on Three, at least the "up to" speed is higher.
