Can't cope with little things

    Hi all,

    Going unreg for this.

Basically, for the last year and a half or so, I've found myself getting totally emotionally overwhelmed at the smallest things - pieces of music, pictures, scents - you name it. It feels like there is a normal reaction there but it becomes amplified and completely overwhlems me to the point of nausea.

In addition to this, I can feel my mood changing almost on an hourly basis, for no good reason. Things like the sun going behind a cloud or even just realising that its later in the day than you thought change my mood dramatically and often affect my productivity. Also something not going to plan in minor (and I mean minor) situations, en example would be planing to do a task at a certain time, like making food, but forgetting about it and realising later. I do understand that this sounds ridiculous by the way.

I'm finding this difficult to explain but if anyone knows what I'm talking about or can share experiences/solutions I'd be very appreciative. I'm a guy in my early 20s in college by the way, if that helps.

    Thanks a bunch. :)

Have you been to your GP? If not, I think that should be your first port of call.

    All the best.

Yes, I think any suggestions as to the cause of this, while well-intentioned, will be only speculative.

You need to go to your GP, be open and honest with them and get to the bottom of what's causing this.

Been in that boat before, and kinda still am. Not unable to function, but a little prone to turn molehills into mountains.

Definitely worth seeing your GP. Medication's not a cure-all (as I can tell you having had a failed attempt to wean myself off it...) but it certainly helps with racing thoughts and general anxiety.

OP the first port of call for you should probably be your GP. You need to get to the bottom of what's causing this.
