Has anyone ever thought of having one?

I also post over in the cycling forum and they have their own adverts forum that runs really well.
It's used mostly by the regulars for the regulars and it's a welcome get away from the jungle that adverts has become!

It's nice to be able to have a bit of comfort when buying and selling gear that it's coming from/going to some one that you know really loves their instruments and aren't just out to haggle for the sake of it.

I've often though an adverts sub-forum would be great in here given the amount of familiar names and such.
What does every one else think?

Obviously it isn't up to me whether it happens or not, I just like the idea.

No. Just no. We used to have an FS Music Equipment forum. You know the way Adverts is designed to handle bidding and clean, clear trading of items. These forums aren't and they descend into chaos. That's why adverts on this forum have been banned for a great many years.

The issue of familiar names is a non starter. The Adverts names are tied into the Boards DB (mostly).

    Well that's that really. Haha

I can't say I agree with the sales descending into chaos, this is just taken from my experience in the cycling forum.
That's fair though, mods rule after all.

I'm not talking as a mod, I'm talking as someone who used to post on the music adverts subforum. Taken from my experience there, it will descend into bitching and spamming. People can't read the simple rules for this forum, they won't follow ones for a FS forum.

I agree with everything feylya wrote, especially this part:

Not really. Admins and the owners of the site can trump any mod decision.
