Apologies for new topic for those of you not interested.

The question of Civil Marriage v Civil Partnership often comes up. Tomorrow Marriage Equality launch a report outlining the differences. This will streamed live from 12.45 - 2pm - details below per Marriage Equality email.

I often hear people saying now that Guy A is getting "Married" to Guy B (or Girl A to Girl B) next week/month/year... this is slightly irritating as it leads people to think that the quest for full equality has been achieved. When I state its a Civil Partnership the people often ask "Whats the difference". This report will highlight same, and by increasing our own awareness, we can all do our bit to ensure we have the support of family, friends, colleagues, etc when it comes to full equality.

It also often arises that people state their hetrosexual friends are having a "Civil Partnership"... such a thing doesnt exist in Ireland. They are usually referring to a Civil Marriage or Registry Office Wedding. This only serves to highlight the total inequality of the two.

Good news for those of you who won't be able to make our "Missing Pieces" marriage audit launch tomorrow.

Because we want as many of our supporters as possible to be able to watch the launch of this important report, whether you're an Irish supporter or a marriage equality supporter overseas, our launch will now be live streamed on the day!

Now you can be among the first to learn about the more than 160 differences between Civil Partnership and civil marriage.

    How does it work?

    1. Live streaming will begin just after 12.40pm on Tuesday, October 4th. Speeches are due to begin at 12.45pm.

    2. Click this link :: http://www.livestream.com/marriageequalitylive?i=12785156831128831 to watch the launch live.

    3. The launch is scheduled to finish at approximately 2pm.

We're delighted to have the opportunity to share the launch of this important report with a wider audience, so please stop by the LiveStream site tomorrow to see exactly what we mean when we say Civil Partnership is not Equality.
