    Hi,
I do a lot of endurance training.

GP says she wants me to have an echo done ( i was born with a murmur)

I am impatient to get an echo done and put my mind at rest but have to wait 4 weeks. I am fairlly sure i have nothing wrong.

Does anyone know where i can get an appointment any quicker than 4 weeks privately ?

Thanks NOT LOOKING FOR MEDICAL ADVICE JUST WHERE TO GET SERVICE QUICKLY

Santry sports surgery clinic, Mater private, Blackrock clinic, Hermitage clinic all do them. 4 weeks wait is the norm though (in a non-urgent situation).
    Worth ringing around though.

My GP wanted me to get one to check a murmer, but didn't want me to wait on the public list (4 weeks in the few places he phoned, and I was doing a long race about 10 days later). He got me in with the Beacon (sandyford) for an appointment an hour later, covered on VHI.

Are you thinking of an ECG?
Gp's cannot refer directly for an Echo on the Public system here. They have to refer to a cardiologist first and the public waiting list to see one is 3-12 months !

Me. I've been referred to a cardiologist. GP wants an Echo as I have a murmur (but I've had it since birth)
Had an ECG 18 months ago which was normal, apart from an slight difference seen normally in people who train alot.
