What combination do you think would be better for the Wales game?

I think DK should move Bowe to 12 (him and BOD yesterday - enough said) and bring in Trimble on the wing, for his physicality and all around game.

    your thoughts?

What combination would you play against Wales? 24 votes

Earles (wing) Bowe (wing) Darcy (centre) BOD (centre)

    Bowe to 12?? A player who's rarely played 13.

Not to mention the fact that Darcy was one of the best players on the field yesterday

Maybe this is some-sort of joke or a drug induced hallucination?!

Nah, a wholesale change like that would screw the team up. Especially considering d'Arcy has hit form. I would include Trimble from a defensive standpoint, start Sexton and Reddan and pray that Cronin does alright in the lineout.

One piece of good play doesnt lead to a game plan/strategy.

I've been saying Trimble all throughout but Earls did great yesterday and I think bringing the confidence garnished from his performance into the next game is the best move.

I don't think a RWC QF of such close proportions is not the time to be trying new strategies.

I predict very little changes with the obvious exception of best being gone.

The only really change, combination or otherwise should be the 9 / 10 combo.

And I can't call that one. The first choice number 10 I feel should dictate the first choice number 9 and I really just don't know - that's being discussed in another thread anyway

I'd not touch what we had vs Australia as it'll be a similar stlye game.

Psotions these days are really all about numbering up in defence, as people run from all angles all over the pitch (bar 10 being the first man out generally) adn defence is more about position not raw size so fiddling with it is dire straits stuff -i.e. to plug injury gaps which we (touch wood - ooo er missus ;) don't have.

I really feel for Trimble, but he should be given a run at 60 as he looks so sharp and so dangerous ball in hand, could score a game saver and still not make the starting line up, but hey its a 22man game.

Wales strength lies in their centres, best not play into their hands by fielding an untested combination.

only change i'd make is Trimble in for Earls to mark George North who is 6'4 and 17 stone plus...horses for courses.

id stick with the team that started against italy.

However if it came to it and we had to put someone at 12, Trimble would not be a bad option.

Earls has hit serious form; it's unlucky for Trimble but good for Ireland. Earls starts. If he looks like he's having trouble with North we can always switch it around. I don't think he will though. Don't forget this: Wales have to defend against Earls too...

Exactly, the way some people talk on this board it's as if Earls is a skinny little girl just waiting to be run over by North.

He's a quality defender yet some fellas, because of his missed tackle when playing out of position on Tualagi (who is one of the best ball carrying centres in world rugby) people assume he's a bad defender.

They forget how flawless he was in defence against Italy and Australia.

Not to mention how good he was in attack.

It's a shame for Trimble because he's playing very well too but it's a 22 man game and I'm sure he'll have an impact of the bench against Wales

For both try's were Trimble put Earls into space I think he showed why he has been picked ahead of Trimble. His acceleration for both of them in such a tight space was fantastic. I don't think Bowe could have done it and I'm not sure if Trimble has that acceleration either.

I'm a big fan of Trimble and it's a such a close call but I'd go with Earls. Earlier in the tournament I'd have gone for Trimble though.

I wouldn't have Bowe anywhere near the centre either.

Methinks you need to check your facts!
