the first NCT I did was overdue and I ended up only being given about 8 months instead of 2 years.
The result is that my next NCT test is due when the car id 6 years old even though it was tested at 5 years and a few months
Has anyone come across this before?

Cars are meant to be tested at 4, 6, 8 and 10 year intervals (and then yearly from then on)

NCT is backdated to the date it should be issued (registration anniversary).

Test runs to original registration date of car regardless of when its tested so should be at

    4 years
    6
    8 etc

It's not backdated, the cert is only valid from the date of testing until the next due date. The next due date is based on the anniversary of the car's first registration.
