How do I get BBC One HD on Sky?

Just got Sky installed today, so far, so good. I've tuned in BBC News using the sticky on this page, but I can't seem to tune in BBC One HD. The symbol rate on my Sky+HD box can only be 22 or 27.5, not 23 that the sticky seems to suggest. Also the 8/9 FEC is not available, the highest it goes to is 7/8.

As far as I know, a friend of mine has BBC One HD with Sky. I'm just wondering am I doing something wrong that means I can't tune it in??

Well I have it on 10847mhz, V, 22000k. Thats on the Eurobird 1 satellite. Not sure if thats the permanent set up or the old one as BBC moved a while ago. Can you search by satellite with the $ky remote?

I tried those settings you mentioned with all the different FEC settings and it found nothing. I live in an apartment and there's a communal dish so I'm not sure if that is a factor. I don't know how to change the satellite or anything.

Anyone that had it tuned in 'Other Channels' before it changed to the new Freq settings would have kept it. As it's SR 23K and now on a DVB-S2 TP it cannot be added in 'Other Channels' on the Sky box.

There's a few threads about it on here. The current Sky software does not allow DVB-S2 transponders to be searched and as most HD channels are now on these type of TPs it's a contentious issue.... Should Sky adapt the sw to allow this....

That's a bit annoying as I had BBC One HD with another provider and now I don't have it. I guess it's true what they say, to get something you always have to sacrifice something else.

If Sky do decide to change their software, how does the box get updated? Is it over the air or is it something I'd have to download and run on it?

Try taking out the card and letting the default UK epg kick in, and then do a search. Just might work.

You wont be able to tune it in to Other Channels regardless of which EPG is on the Sky box.

    Ah, it was just a suggestion. I ditched $ky 14 months ago:D

For those who are interested, I checked the Sky forum on their website about this issue and found that others have complained about it too. The response was that this was not a decision by Sky to block access, and instead it's a technical issue they are trying to resolve.

Let's hope the latter is true and that they succeed.

The technical issue being that Sky choose not to allow you to input the correct symbol rate or search for S2 transponders

No word of this being resolved yet? I only turned my box off once since it was installed. I'm slightly concerned they've removed channel 5 now too and I won't have it if I switch the box off then on again.

I could always get BBC ONE HD on other channels on my SKY+HD. Anyway it has been added to the EPG now, so everyone should be sorted - no?

I think the 23 in the sticky is a typo by the way.

If you have the HD Pack then BBC ONE HD is on channel 141.

If you dont have the Hd Back then you will get BBC ONE HD on channel 234.
