My 9 year old is in love with Steve Backshall from Deadly 60.
(She asked for him off Santa:D) Is it possible, could anyone do it, make a photo of him beside her.Its like one of the pictures you see made up.I could say he visited her in his/her dreams.Santa , would get a pencil case, T-shirt, large poster made out of it.Thanks for the help/advice/not telling me to go away.Cathy

Kinda creepy, very Id say.He is about 40 years of age.Hes a modern day Steve Erwin. He goes out looking at endangered wildlife.

She is obcessed with him.She once said, Mammy when you die, can Heidi(that's a friend of mine) adopt me and marry Steve Backshall. That's only because I told her she was too young to marry him ,herself.

I remember having a similar crush on Adam and the ants, :o

Still, do you think its possible. And where would I get it done??

I think if you went to a local copy/print shop, the sort that make up t-shirts all the time, they'll probably help you out, if you had the photos you wanted put together.

    100% wrong.

Whoever took the photo owns the copyright, for the duration of their life, plus 70 years. The images are definitely copyright.

You should find the photographer who took the image and ask them for a price for a print.

That would be a breach of copyright, and would leave the printer open to legal action.

Thats all well and good till its your picture being used, if Cathy had taken a picture of Steve Backshall then there would be no end of people willing to help her splice the two pictures together

Its hardly as if Cathy is looking to make profit from it, its a nice present for her young one. There's no need for people to be jumping down her throat, treating her like a criminal, for a simple and polite request.

So, if she wanted a bar of chocolate for the kid, she could just walk in to a shop and take one without paying too?? Or do you have double standards? Sure it's only for the kid.

Copyright breach is copyright breach. Plain and simple. People need to understand that they can't just take/use an image just because it's online.

What dressing down would that be? I advised that no copyrighted material was to be put on the thread, plain and simple.

Sorry - It is a bit of a tender subject.

@Cathy - May I suggest you contact the production company or agents for Steve Backshall and explain what you would like to do for your daughter. Then request that they supply you some Promotional Images with permission to use them as you have outlined. They are very unlikely to refuse you and that way you will have legal authority to proceed. When you have that then there will be quite a few here who will assist you to combine the images.

There are many companies that create posters with your kids photo in them. here is a link as an example. They maybe able to help you out and do it properly (including buying a stock image to use) even if they don't have it adverstised it might be worth contacting them.
