Collecting JSA without photo ID

    Hi,

I applied for JSA about 3 months ago and I am expecting to get it over the next few weeks (according to what they told me when I signed on last week anyway)

The only thing is that my passport I used when originally making my claim has vanished whilst moving house and I don't currently have a passport because I can't afford to apply for a new one yet. I've never claimed any JSA or JSB before.

Will there be a huge issue collecting without the photo ID or am I in trouble?
The only other ID I have is my old student card.

Any advice will be greatly appreciated
    Thank you!

Some post offices can and do look for photo ID especially if it is your first time collecting jobseekers. Do you have an up to date driving licence or a garda age card.

It can be awkward, they usually ask for id for the first one, especially if it is a big sum.

If you bring your long-form birth cert and have a couple of other cards they might accept them. I didn't have a passport or drivers licence.

They do ask sometimes if they don't know you, I'd imagine there is some way of collecting it, maybe call into the SW office with any bits of ID ya have I.E student card, bills, birth cert etc. I'm sure this happens all the time, they may give you something to produce at the PO

I don't have a drivers license. I'm gonna' apply for an age card. I didn't realise they processed the applications so fast now (10 working days according to the site).

I will head in armed with all my documents and explain in the SW office just incase anyway.

    Thanks for all the replies!!
