    Hi All,
I need help please. I want to post photos on here and i just cant get the hang of it. I saw a post in here on how to do it but it links my photo back to 500px instead of having the photo on the thread like i see others?
I post a lot of my photos on Facebook but i also use rarely 500px.
Can anyone help me before i go mad:eek:

    Thanks in advance.

    Steoc

Thanks for taking the time to help Iamblip
But i did follow that and it saves the link to the photo alright as in it directs the viewer to 500px for example.
Im trying to post the photo straight onto the page like i see all the others. Maybe i am missing something?

you really need to use something like flickr or photobucket which provide easy and proper linking code. I'm not sure if 500px does the same. Using FB (which wrecks images when you upload them!) you'd have to right click the image and copy th image url. Then post it here by clicking the icon above the box you type in that looks like a mountain and sun and pasting the image url into it

There is now a quick guide in the OP of the Random Thread which covers Pix.ie and Flickr, which are the two most common image sharing sites used here. Both these sites make hot linking quite easy and preserve the quality of the image.

I was having the same problem OP, nearly went as far as pulling me own hair out (whats left of it:pac:)
I joined pix.ie, it's very easy to embed your photo's in a forum from there, just copy/paste the picture forum code. Hope this helps.

    Thanks MayoMick,

Trying to decide between flicker or pix.ie.
I think a lot of bardsies are on pix.ie. So would be nice to keep it in the family...

Well, they are both free, and both have a good level of community involvement so there is no reason why you shouldn't sign up to both, upload some pictures to both and see how you get on.

It's easy to post photos from 500px, I do it all the time.

Just click on the embed button in the bottom right hand corner of your photos page.

Highlight just the URL for the jpg (it's usually long and full of random letters and numbers, and ends in .jpg ;)), and copy.

Head back to boards, in the reply to thread box, hit the insert image button and paste the URL.

If you want to link the image back to it's page in 500px, just copy the URL from the address bar in 500px. Head back to boards, hightlight the image URL you posted earlier and click the insert link button. Paste the 500px page URL and you're done.

The only thing to look out for is that you need to upload your image to 500px with a size of 800 pixels on the long edge if your're going to be posting it here on boards.
