Hi I'm looking for a bit of help. My sisters wedding is in July 12th 2012 and I am trying to see can I hire a goldish coloured Ford falcon to take them from the church to venue etc. Basically, they met in Oz and he had this car and would be so special.
Now before ppl point out the obvious, I know its an Australian car and I know I don't have the year up. I'll find out the year but imagine its 80s or 90s. Anyway if anyone knows of a collector or anything who I can maybe have a chat with and see what could be done I'd really appreciate it,
    Thanks.
Think its this style one but ill find out the actual year and spec and post it after.

Isn't that particular car (actor) Eric Bana's falcon?

I'd imagine it may be somwhat difficult to find an XB falcon in this country but it would be great if you could of course

Ya I get that. Honestly ok I don't know a lot about cars. Now the image is only to show the basic shape of the car I'm on about. Considering they did oz very cheap I don't imagine they had the same car as Eric bana, is only a point of reference. It's not even the right colour. So what ill do is try get the year and everything, DISREGARD the image link.

if they were backpackin round Australia the most likely contnders are
    the XD/XE/XF Wagon
    Falcon_small-03.jpg

    or the
    EA/EB/EBII/ED
    0e092f5d890649a57eb58be96891bb38-1-3-1994-white-ford-falcon-station-wagon.jpg

Very common Vehicles in Australia, but the odds of finding one over here are Slim

There is a bit of a market for the XA/XB/XC Coupe as they are the 'Mad Max' car

Well Eric Bana bought his one when he was a teenager and still has it (crashed it in a race but fixing it again, there's even a film about it called "Love the beast")

In fairness it is quite unlikely they ahd an XB at all as even then they'd have been a pretty collectable car, but the likes of the ones mahatma coat posed are very common and very cheap over there

There was a guy in Enniscorthy that had an xb falcon coupe, A friend of mine brought me to see it a couple of years ago I'll try to find out if it's still there.

I've been to loads of classic shows over the years and I've never seen a ford falcon at one. I think you'd be very lucky to find one to be honest. There is a huge market for the classic ones in Oz and the boggo ones aren't worth importing.

O.K. I got some information on this, there was two xb falcon coupes imported by this guy in Enniscorthy a purple one in mint condition with a high performance engine this car was traded for a couple of other cars and the new owner subsequently blew the engine, the last that was heard of that car was the original Irish owner was trying to buy it back. The second car was for sale for E4000 at that time and was a complete runner although it did need some mechanical work and the shell was almost rust free but did need a paint job a friend of mine was interested in the second car but didn't have 4g at the time, again not sure of the fate of this one but I have someone looking into it and if they are still there I hope to have some pics tomorrow.

Hey kev1.3s thanks so much. If you even had ant details about the guy in enniscorthy who had/has the cars it'd be excellent. It'd be the ideal location for me so if you can get details it'd be great. Thanks for being awesome so far tho.

If you sister has fond memories of an ‘XD’ Ford Falcon then I have sort of a solution.

I was in OZ in 2001 and was a part owner of a gold XD estate. Even before I went to OZ I used to think that they had Granadas over there (from watching Home & Away Neighbours etc...) but were in fact Ford Falcons.

Check out the attached images (sorry I don’t know how to make them appear on this screen), pretty similar I’d say. There is a lot more of them here than Falcons, you should be able to hire one or some kind owner might do you a turn?? (Although going as far as trying to specifically get a gold one might be a tall order)

Now to a Bordie anorak like most of here on Motors can tell the difference but hey it will be the happiest day of her life and I’m sure she won’t have time to nitpick the transport you arranged for her big day ??

Hi, basically I now know its an 84 falcon I have pictures I hope I can upload. It is similar to the Granada, the main visual difference seems to be the shape of the lights. Goin to try add pictures hope it works. Thanks everyone by d way, loads of great replies.
How do I add photos from my phone?

I had a 82/84 Falcon LTD (Rolls type grille ) , can.t remember the reg at the moment, WZY 649,sold it to someone in the midlands about 15yrs ago

Another guy on the old N1 near Lissenhall ( Renault breaker - rumoured to be .... ) had a Falcon Estate parked outside for ages

Currently, a Dublin undertaker has a black Falcon Estate he uses as a spare hearse ( I think Colman-Milne converted Falcons for funeral duty )

http://www.coleman-milne.co.uk/used-cars-details/?uid=221 - maaybe some Liverpool / UK/ Norn Iron limo co's would rent one to you for the big day ???
