    OK,

I have been trying to find a definite answer but I cannot .. I am hoping someone here will be able to help me ...
I am a PAYE employee.. last year I sold shares for which I need to pay my taxes... I completed the online form 11 for 2010 and I can see the expected amount of taxes I owe for 2010 but the system is asking me to pay for my Liability for 2011 Preliminary Tax Purposes ...I will not have any non paye income in 2011 and I am already paying my 2011 taxes every month ....My questions is , Can I set the total of 2011 Preliminary Tax to 0 (even is the system is giving me an amount) and just pay my taxes for 2010 ? will this be taking a risk ?

100 % of my revenu is paye so why should I overpay and loose interests as this is what the will comes down to .. I know I will get this amount back but this is beside the point...
what are my options ?? thanks you in advance..

If all your income for 2011 will be PAYE then your preliminary will be zero

Ok, this is also what I expected but the online form has calulated otherwise...the amount of preleminary taxe to pay is over 800 euros --
I am on PAYE but my wife was on job seeker allowance for the first 2 months of 2011, this could be why but then again - this woudl equal to 1 full month of benefits there must be something else...

    Thank you for you help

Jobseeker Allowance isn't taxable as far as I'm aware, Job seeker benefit is though.

My mistake - It is Job seeker benefit - So we had 2 months claim or about 1800 and the preliminary tax is half of that ...

I got an answer - I called the ROS officer who confirmed I can set my 2011 Preliminary Tax
to Nil as long as I do not have non PAYE revenue for 2011...
