Unusually rare to find a 3 Series M Sport Touring here so it might be a UK import. Either way check the service history on the car as it is paramount that these engines get the correct grade of oil and it's changed regularly. Also make sure the breather filter is changed regularly. As this has a habbit of getting blocked and will result in a blown turbo. Just google "BMW breather filter", plenty of info out there on it.

Also be aware that the M Sport has a stiffer lowered suspension, this coupled with the run flat tyres makes the ride very hard so take it for an extended test drive and make sure you are comfortable with the ride. Replacing the run flat tyres with conventional tyres to aleaviate this a bit.

That particular version of the 318d has a modest 122bhp so don't expect it to be anywhere near quick but you can get it remapped to about 150bhp for a few hundred euro. I have an E90 M Sport saloon myself and they really are a lovely car to drive so I'm a bit biast towards them.

The A4 I don't know a whole deal about but the 2.0 PD TDi engine is known for being troublesome too, injectors and oil pumps give heaps of problelms, in saying that though my cousin had one for 2 years with no problems but he may have been lucky. Spec on it too looks a bit bare, no leather but it does have the S-Line sport seats.

I guess it really depends on what you want for the car, the BMW will be more a driver's car of the two and for me has a nicer spec.

I've combined both your threads OP, best to keep it all in one place.

    Mywheels.ie confirms it's a UK import.

The 3 series touring looks so much classier than the saloon IMO.

I'd rather an estate than any saloon tbh.

    For me, E91 hands down.
Better spec as well on it and will be far nicer to drive.

Wouldn't be gone on red cars either.
