Got knocked out of the championship, so that now means I'm finished until spring time in terms of matches. But what my question is what should I do during the winter to stay sharp, fit and to come back even stronger next year? Is physical work indoors more necessary than ball work in the ball alley?

    thanks for your help

chill out for a while and recharge the batteries is the best thing to do after a long season. Rest prevents injuries in the long run so give yourself 3-4 weeks to relax. If its hurling you play then find a ball alley and you can do a good cardio/skills session by striking off the wall and keeping on the move, not waiting for the ball to come to you. Aside from that circuit training is absolutely perfect for the winter. 5 or 6 lads can get together and set up a few excercises and do a circuit. We did circuits in December last year and we had a lot fewer muscle injuries when pre season started back. FOr the next few weeks a few pints wont go a miss!

Aye and if you play football you could organize a 7 side footie matches to stay sharp during the winter period.

What are your weaknesses OP? Work on them over the winter. Targetwhat you need to improve most in your game.
