I suppose you city dwellers will have more experience of this than a mere culchie such as myself but anyhoo.

On a few occasion s recently I've had the misfortune to encounter some people who seem to have been dragged up from the gutter temporarily.

    1. Met a red E30 325 overtaking on a bend. Youngish driver (mid-late 20s)Wide enough road so I pulled into the hard shoulder anyway but flashed him to highlight my annoyance. In return I was flipped the bird.
    2. Met a pos Hilux overtaking 3 vehicles, gradually!! Had to brake and pull into the practically non existent hard shoulder. Flashed the lights at said redneck (mid-40s) and was given the w**ker symbol.
    3. Young guy with girlie-friend on board in 03 Vectra cuts me up after barreling up the outside lane to a roundabout. I was doing about 50 and had to brake hard to avoid him hitting me. Horn and flashed lights again resulted in me receiving the w**ker sign.

Now, if I make a mistake and cause another motorist to take evasive action, I hold my hands up (figuratively speaking, I really only hold one hand up) and admit fault.
What's wrong with people like the mouth-breathers above?

I need to go get RPGs fitted for such encounters.

Sometimes I really wish I was an unmarked Traffic Corp unit.

Along with yourself, I have no clue why i'm typing at this hour, not to mention with perfect spelling ( :D ), but there is no answer to this quandary other than lots of people are dícks and believe they are in the right no matter what, even when they are not. End of.

i suppose i'll get flayed for pointing out that the horn and headlight flash are to warn of your approach not to give out to inconsiderate and incompetant drivers.

One thing that really gets to me is these people who buy their first ever brand new Diesel mainly for the tax , we all know the ones >08 polo, clio tdi etc and think everyone else has moved up in the world too and have endless amounts of torque and can out do a 737 from 0-60.

Just last night some cùnt in his 11 renault megane decided he wasn't happy with the 0-60 rate of my 1.4 and decided to flash me. But the fact is we're on a dual carriageway and he could have over taken, but no decides to sit behind me and get all aggro instead  before finally disappearing into the distance.

Back in June I was driving from Castleisland to Abbeyfeale towing my caravan.. a car overtakes me up the hard shoulder.. I was doing 80, maybe even just over. I was driving towards the left edge of my lane too (in case anyone fancied squeezing thru' against oncoming traffic).

Was a guy 50 or so with his wife..
