Can I ask why you want them?

Op just belt on a socket that is just one size smaller than the locknut. Takes about two seconds..

    Is it that easy????

I seen a Lad (Employee) in Quick Fit lose the head trying to get a Socket on one, took him two hours apparently to McGuyver something in the end.

Does it not defeat the purpose if a full set of lock nut adapters are readily available?

I am desperatly in need of a Lock Nut remover tonight for a 2005 new model Passat ..
I thought I had my problem solved by calling the AA but it seems they are contracting out their work to local garages so guy arrived without the remover and said he would have to go home and get the Tow truck to tow me back to his garage... no point doing a job in 5 minutes if you can knock a couple hundred € out of it I suppose...

    Thanks... ( in Sligo )

How can a thread like this be left running when others with far less potential for trouble are sometimes shut almost immediately?

Perhaps the OP here is genuine but this is the sort of info that thieving scumbags like to get hold of.

    .....

I hope you are joking.... If not I can almost guess who you will be voting in as president.......

The Alloy thieves would have my wheel removed hours ago and would not have to resort to boards.ie for help

I could imagine an alloy thief driving rolling up to a car with nice shiny alloys with a van full with nicely labeled shelves with every combination of a lock nut socket known to manand trying each one to see if it fits:)

Does anyone steal bog standard alloys anymore?

Have you a mini compressor run off cig lighter?
My only idea would be to try pump tire up depending on how fast it goes back down. Get to your local tire centre see if they mend tire in sittu Hopefully its not on tire side wall. They should be able to do that for you.

If we are all done freaking out, there is no taboo with lock nut removers. Anyone "in the business" of stealing wheels doesnt need the help of Boards.ie

For everyone else you can buy a Lock Nut Remover in Halfords. Not behind the counter, not hidden, right there on the shelf.
    http://www.halfords.ie/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/product_storeId_11101_catalogId_15551_productId_196491_langId_-1_categoryId_212616

I tried it and it was working fine, but the guy came out of his house so I had to run away and lost the wheel and my lock nut remover.

    ;) :pac:

Locking wheels nuts are pretty useless really anyways, it's not rocket science getting them off and will mean f all to any thief whether you have them fitted or not.

Guy who was sent out to me by AA tried and failed to hammer on a socket .

Maybe both he and the socket were too thick ??
