So, I made it to 39 before needing to have a toother pulled. Mixed emotions. :)

There is a feeling that the gum is receeding, but then I realise that there is a big gap to be filled, so thats understandable.

Over time, what becomes of the void in the gum where the tooth was?

Initially, the socket fills with blood, clots and then granulates, reorganizes itself, starts to form new blood vessels and then forms new bone.
The gum closes over fully over a few weeks.

The bone that the tooth used to be held in by (alveolar bone) now has no tooth and no real reason to hang around and so starts to resorb away...

Adjacent teeth may tilt into the gap, the speed of this is is determined by your age and if the teeth are locked in by the bite of the opposing teeth...

Opposing teeth may overerupt into this gap aswell overtime....

It is best practice to replace teeth following removal (there are exceptions)
This can be done with a denture, bridge or implant depending on your needs, budget etc

    All the best,
    OS

Get an implant in there about 8 weeks after the extractions (would have been nice to do it when the tooth came out honestly). Expensive....yes but well worth it. Keep you dentition intact and complete it avoid a lot of problems in the future.
