help with irish proverb

    nuair a titan an tiarna, the fight rarely continues.

    can anyone help me with this proverb? i remember reading it in a book but ive forgot the entire proverb.
    the english meaning is something like ''when the leader falls the fight rarely continues?''

    any help would be much appreciated
