Well I'm heading off to Gran Canaria next Tuesday and will be shaving/waxing/immacing my chest and back hair. Reasons being cause I sweat way too much and I'll have a stupid looking tan if I keep it all.

So has anyone done this before? And what's the best way? Shaving waxing or veet/immac, Or some other way?

    Thanks

Just found out there is veet for men hair removal gel, Has anybody used this and do you know if it would be a bad idea to use it so close to hols. With the hot weather and strong sun

    Wax it like a boss.

I've had to get it done in the past for tattoos, and honestly it doesn't hurt as much as people make out.

Yeah i've been reading around their and waxing does seem the best way, Theirs a woman in my street that does a full upper body wax for 20euro sounds like an absolute bargain to me.

Do you think their would be any issue with being in strong sun a week after getting it done?

    How long did it last?

A week after getting it done you'd be fine in the sun. Got mine done the first time living in Brisbane, so the sun was basically immediate :p

Lasted, hmm well it was a long time ago. I'd guess a few weeks, 2-3 or so.

Just make sure whatever you do, you do a test patch first!
Nothing worse than having some kind of reaction and wrecking your hols!!

I use this. Make sure you get some gloves or you'll get wax burn on your fingers (even washing up gloves:eek:)
Leave it on for no more than 7 minutes and scrub the hair off.

I'd be pretty sure the 'for men' bit is just marketing. Any veet style product that works on women's legs will be just fine for removing chest and back hair. Instructions will be on the bottle. Try a small little two inch square patch first because some people get reactions (rashes ets) from the stuff. Most brands stink dreadfully but you do it before a shower and the smell washes off completely. You will probably start getting stubble growing back after about a week, it won't really be visible but a girl once told me it felt like sandpaper rubbing her skin off. She was exaggerating obviously but yeah, girls definitely don't like the stubble.

Waxing will last longer (about 2 weeks) but it hurts obviously, although I never found it as painful as people try to make out. Just like pulling off a plaster really (well dozens of plasters I guess).
