Hi,My name is Jade and i'm currently studying Fashion/Sfx makeup at University,
For our first assignment we are doing about Drag queens (based on the film Priscilla Queen of the Desert). We are creating everything from the outfit to the makeup,so it would be awesome if some drag queens could answers some questions for me so i'm able to get a better understanding and to stay true to the style.

    1) How do you block out your eyebrows? (if you do)
    2) How would you describe your style/Makeup?
    3) How old were you when you started to dress in Drag?
    4) What is your sexuality?
    5) Does being a Drag queen mean you want to be female/Why do you dress in drag?
    7) Do you have any pictures of yourself in Drag?
    8) What is your stage name?
    9) How do you dress when not in drag?
    10) Is there anything else you would like to tell me about Drag queens?

Thanks to everyone who answers, really appreciated.
    Jade x

Male-to-female transsexual people don't want to be female, we discover that we are female.

I'm not aware of any male-to-female transsexual people who are drag queens. I'm aware of one female-to-male transsexual who is an occassional drag queen. I don't know why he does it - it may have something to do with a need to entertain / enlighten / express something / have fun.

    Hi OP

In general we do prefer if people have questionnaires or surveys that they ask the permission of the moderators

Also with regard to question 5 - you need to completely reword that or leave it out in future. There is a big difference between drag queens and male to female transsexuals.

It was so much easier to blame it on Them. It was bleakly depressing to think that They were Us. If it was Them, then nothing was anyone's fault. If it was us, what did that make Me? After all, I'm one of Us. I must be. I've certainly never thought of myself as one of Them. No one ever thinks of themselves as one of Them. We're always one of Us. It's Them that do the bad things.
