For me it's a photo finish between The Wire and The Sopranos. On my list also is Carnivale, Generation Kill and The Corner. Have series 1 & 2 of Breaking Bad and will definitely be purchasing Series 3 & 4 when they are available in Region 2 format.Brilliant stuff and all have one thing in common. HBO.

Possibly Auf Wiedersehen, Pet, if only because it is still brilliant after 30-odd years.

Im with you on Only Fools, but I think Shameless is my favourite (the UK version) especially the earlier ones.
I used to love The Fresh Prince of Belair when I was a kid, its back on Nickelodean now and I see the kids enjoying it and singing the theme tune....

Nip tuck was a class series

I used to enjoy Tenko, back in the day.
More recently, I think Friends was enjoyable- nothing like a good laugh to lift my spirits.
Can honestly say, there's nothing on tv now that I really enjoy- it's pretty much hit and miss at the best of times.

Sopranos was excellent but would you not agree that it was ruined by the character AJ? and way too much time dedicated to his teen angst, very predictable and unnecessary.

Sopranos, Generation Kill but my favorite so far.... The Shield!!! Best show ever!! Have watched the 1st season of The Wire and really likes it but season 2 ( only watched 2eps) was crap so I gave up, will probably try again :)

It was the only Star Trek series I couldn't look at it was that bad.

It was the only Star Trek series I couldn't look at it was that bad.

I cant understand it either. Recycled plots and secondary characters, inconsistent & improvised story of 'lost' proportions, dreadful acting - yet I loved it.

It was the only Star Trek series I couldn't look at it was that bad.

It's was too grim and edgy without actually managing to be grim and edgy. I remember that "epic" story towards the end for one particular reason, there was this Cardassian fella who'd turned to drink because of the war. They couldn't have him exactly acting like an alco so they just had him standing around with a glass in his hand and occasionally sipping it. Total cop-out.

I preferred TNG and VOY. At least you got what you expected there, annoyingly perfect and optimistic folk cheerfully sticking it out and cracking stupid jokes until they solved whatever this weeks problem was.
