Small things you believe for no reason

    So,

I was talking to a friend the other day and (exciting conversation) she was saying that she had ran home to put on a wash during lunch hour and she had to hang up everything after work. She smokes at home and I told her to hang her stuff in the bedroom rather than in the sitting room because wet things absorb smell very quickly.

I said this because it's something I've always believed and I've never questioned it, but, when I said it to her and she asked why, I couldn't think of an explanation.

Now, I may be right, or I may be wrong. That doesn't matter to me. I'm just trying to remember why I have this idea in my head. Is it an old wives' tale? Something along the lines of:

    Things will not go well
If you leave your things while wet
    Near something with a smell
'Till the next wash you'll regret

What do you guys think? Do you sometimes believe something you're told / hear and leave it at that without question?

I used to believe in God for no reason.

I know of people who genuinely believe that if a third Mary is elected to the Presidency we will see some yet-to-be-described miracles. Jaysis.

If an earwig crawls inside your ear when you are asleep it will lay eggs there.

Went through a mad phase last year of eating maybe 20 pieces of fruit a day thinking I was super-dooper healthy 'till my dietician friend told me that was a shiit load of calories and fruit is full of sugar...I didn't realise you could eat too much fruit. Is there anything you CAN do without it being bad for you in the end ffs?

Well, the origin was drinking too much grape-based alcohol. It wasn't in a fit of anger...I think I dropped it while dancing with it.

    Evil fruit.

Also, blessing myself outside churches, graveyards and even when an ambulance goes by with the siren on. Not sure why, but I've always done it.

I also lift my legs up when going over train tracks in the car, because when I was younger someone told me it was good luck. I now have several friends doing it too :D

How clever of you to predict a post from page 1 when the thread is on page 2. Spooky stuff.
