Any one else think Sean Gallagher, presidential hopeful  , is taking the Psss out of the electorate with his suggestions on saving a few million euros not having campaign posters, sending a group candidate letter to households instead of one letter from each of the candidates etc which tax payers foot the bill for.

would this hack not have been better off coming up with these sort of suggestions to Bertie and the boys when he was rubbing shoulders with them the last 10 years. His FF buddies ruin the country economically for next 2 to 3 generations and hes talking about saving 20 or 30 million.

    absolutely pathetic.

I thought it was about as poor as the point that the posters generated jobs TBH.

Though we won't know if they are jobs in Ireland or not I guess since Tubridy never asked the question of what country the company making the posters was in to the candidates utilizing them.

I know for a fact that certain members of his election team are fairly high up in FF thats the main reason that puts me off him. Another reason is this kind of thing, he is just trying to appear as the bigger man ot the electorate, the man that pays his own way when its all a gimmick.

He's talking about ways to save money for the taxpayers. If he gets them to save 20 to 30 million then that money can be put into reducing the number of people on trolleys in hospitals for example.
To not do or support what he has suggested is tantamount to condoning the waste of public money. Why would we need to pay for 7 leaflets postage when we could pay for 1 only. I don't understand what is "pathetic" about such a suggestion. Rather it is innovative out of the box thinking that is perhaps giving an example of what he would bring to the presidency.

    you missed the point.

he is talking about saving a few million for the tax payer now, after him and his FF mates have cost the country billions bailing out the banks/developers over the next 50+ years.

Do you not think its a bit hypocritical?

    that is whats pathetic.

This ex FF activist , campaign worker , and speech giver was until very recently supporting the FF government as they raped our country and plundered our coffers.

He denied this until one reporter confirmed that he had actually been at one of Gallaghers recent FF orations.

And now he has suddenly developed a conscience.

Because of that reason I'm out

What's poor about spending activity which secures/generates jobs?

BTW some English lessons might be useful?

It is silly, are they even printing their posters in Ireland or are the jobs being generated in other countries?

Lots of people were making issue that the political parties had started getting them printed in the North because it was cheaper than getting them done down here in which case they are just sending money out of the country.

If I want English lessons, I'll get an English class TBH. You don't see me suggesting you go on a human relations course.

It may well be hypocritical. For it to be so I would need to see an example of how a decision he made previously wasted millions of tax payers money. I am not sure if he had a decision making role in FF???

But, to criticise an idea that may save the taxpayer (us) money would be to support the continuation of wastage in public spending. So I dont think the idea is pathetic but I am open to proof of its hypocrasy.

    You are out on what?
    1. The idea of saving tax payer money. (i.e. what the OP introduced)
    2. Voting for Gallagher.

Sonnenblumen , your grammar is terrible. Before slagging other posters about their English, please improve your own English skills.

Gallagher has little money in his campaign.
I always read between the lines when a FFer or ex FFer makes a statement. Most are liars .
Gallagher in my opinion has no interest in saving money for the taxpayer.

This guy helped drive the property bubble with his smart homes business and his mates in Fianna Fáil. He is a failed business man who is playing his last card trick to stay in the spot light. He isn't doing posters because his political party Fianna Fáil is just as broke as him..

In my opinion He is symbolism of everything that is wrong with Ireland over the last few years.
