    I like the black more.

Is it not a bit bare for a graduation though?

The black is nicer but miles too low cut and short for a graduation.

Black is a keeper. It's very transitional and it fits any event. You can dress it up or down, it can be formal or festive.

Whereas white is a bit more tacky in my opinion, and it only fits in a selected category of events (cocktail parties, beach parties, weddings, baby showers ect..). You would not wear white to graduation, that is way to much and it just shows that you do not take your graduation seriously.

However, if you wanna go for a light color, I'd advise you go for cream or beige. These colors are transitional and they're not too much, anyone can pull them off. Yes, because white is an unflattering color if you can't pull it off, it just looks cheap.

Besides, do you really want to wear this dress to graduation ? It's a bit too much. It's more of a party dress to be honest. But I guess that underneath your gown, no one will care.

    Good luck :)

    Oh lord god..... :/

    Hmm....maybe I should re-think it?!

In my opinion though, I will be covered by the gown for the whole ceremony, afterwards were going for a meal with the family and myself and all my friends are going out after the meal, which will prob be around 3pm as the grad is very early in the morning.

Would this dress be more suitable maybe? http://www.warehouse.co.uk/soft-mesh-colour-block-prom/Dresses/warehouse/fcp-product/306048

Have to agree I think the first dress is a bit short. It would probably be okay for the night out bit but for an early morning grad I think it's a bit short.

The Warehouse dress is lovely but again looks a little short to me. I suppose it depends how tall you are?

To me, the second dress is definitely more classy and appropriate for such occasion. Plus, the shade is lovely.

As regards to the length, the dress is not necessarily too short if the girl wearing it isn't over 5'2 or 5'3, if you're over 5'3, you should go for a longer dress. I think the length of the second dress is correct, the first one was a bit too short and too much cleavage. Not really graduation material.

Will you be wearing tights ? If so, then you should deffo go for this second dress ! And please, go for black heels, no cream or beige, that looks too tacky.

I love the second dress though. Very classy.

I'm 5ft 3' and got hardly there cleavage! The reason i picked these dresses is because the style and fit of the dress suit my height, cleavage and overall shape of my body. If i had bigger cleavage i definitely wouldnt wear the dress from asos! I'm honestly finding it difficult to find a dress that i like and is suitable. In saying that, anyone at the grad last year wore similar dresses to the ones i posted above

Then you should deffo go for the one you like :)

I mean, graduation is an important thing in one's life, and you should feel good on such occasion. Wear something that you think will make you look pretty.
You'll be wearing a gown anyway. If you go for the first dress, black is better in my opinion.

Given your account in your last post, I think the first dress might look good too. As you said you don't have too much cleavage. Then go for it. It's a really pretty dress, it just depends on how you wear it.

As I said, wear something that will make you Happy ! Who cares about what others say ? However, I love the bottom part of the 1st dress, very festive like.

Love the shape of the first dress. Love the formalish style of the second one.
Besides, you can wear a blazer on top of the dress, so it's not a big deal :)

I'd get the second dress for the graduation and the first one as a graduation present to yourself :) they're both lovely.

The Warehouse dress is lovely and very suitable for graduation. Some black tights with killer shoes and you'll be set! It's very unique too so you'll stand out in photos (but not in a bad way!) and it'll look very pretty under your gown. Plus, it's very wearable so you'll get to wear it again to other events.

Witnessed quite a few girls at a graduation recently looking like they were ready for a night out at 10 in the morning - way over made up, teeny tiny dresses, monstrous shoes (teetering along with their parents beside them not looking too impressed) - they just looked ridiculous.

I wouldn't be worried about the length or cleavage. I would go for the first dress in black. You will be wearing a robe so you will hardly see any of the dress at the ceremony anyway. It's your day, look however you want! :)

Personally I dislike the first one. I think it's quite plain, far too booby & short for a graduation, regardless of whether you'll have a robe on. You won't have it on after the ceremony when you go for dinner, and for 2pm or 3pm in the day, it's a bit much. It seems that you've defended this choice of dress anyway so it appears you would go with that choice, regardless of what is suggested here.

The second dress is lovely, with black tights and black shoes, it'll look fabulous. An easy transition from day to night - tights can even be removed for the nightime if you like!

At the end of the day, it's your decision. You choose whichever dress you desire.
