HTC Flyer price reduction from $499 to $299 in US

US only for now ... BestBuy in the US have just announced it is reducing the price of the HTC Flyer from $499.99 to $299.99 starting Saturday, Oct. 1.

No guarantee that this will follow in Ireland or Europe, but might be worth keeping in mind for those thinking of getting one.

I think its worth mentioning too that its not really fair comparing a 7" tablet to a 10.1" or 8.9" one(think ipad, xoom, galaxy tab etc..), just my opinion. Personally, I would find a 7" tablet far too small, too close in size to larger smartphones like the Galaxy S2

As for this deal, brings it more in line with the price it should have been anyway, IMO. As for the Amazon tablet, thats just been unveiled, it will bring tablets like this down to a much more swallow-able level, but I'd be sceptible as to whether 7" tablets will be on the go for much longer. I suspect this is the last 7" HTC tablet we'll be seeing
