How to get dole on first week of Fas course?

Just wondering if you are allowed to get dole on the first week of a fas course as you don't get paid, and if so how do you go about it, collect it as normal or what? Thanks

FAS pay a week in hand - you will not get paid for the 1st week of course and you will not get SW either as you have signed off SW to do the course. However when the course finishes you will get both FAS payment (for last week of the course) and SW the week you sign back on.

I thought that too but chanced my arm anyway and went to the post office. They payed me for the days I wasn't in fas, so got around 66 e.
