Chrome crashes while watching videos

The past few months chrome has been crashing while watching video clips online....and no its not porn either :D I don't know what could be causing it to randomly crash. The screen appears with a jigsaw piece in the middle of the video clip. Very annoying as I've to restart the clip again. Any ideas as to how to fix this…

If I was to uninstall chrome and reinstall, would I loose all my bookmarks etc??

No if you uninstall it should still keep them but you can also synchronise your google chrome settings and bookmarks with your gmail account. Look under options, personal stuff
